What Care 4.0 is — and what it is not

In dry cleaners, “wet cleaning” is often confused with a gentle domestic wash. The BÜFA Care 4.0 is something else: a professional line where water, drum program and chemistry work together. Low mechanical action (typically 5 seconds motion / 25 seconds pause), high spin before the dryer, and programs that cover from cashmere to hotel linen.

Why a “gentle wash” is not enough

A domestic or general commercial “delicates” program does not control mechanical action, dosing and finishing in the same way. In Care 4.0:

  • Mechanical: short drum movements with long pauses — less stress on wool and silk.
  • Chemistry: colour-protecting detergent, protective film, pH neutralizing and a finishing / care product.
  • Drying: after high extract, gentle reverse — e.g. 15 minutes at 70°C — before VEIT finishing.
  • Shop flow: less sorting by care label, more consistent results from shift to shift.

The process in five steps

Simplicity is part of the product. You do not need to sort every load by fibre type:

  • Sorting — light and dark colours only.
  • Loading — drum ≥60% full (critical for mechanics and chemistry).
  • Care 4.0 wash — selection from the 8 programmes + automatic dosing where available.
  • Drying — gentle reverse after extract.
  • Finishing — VEIT tables / presses for shop handover.

Compared with traditional wet cleaning, the brochure cites about 30% less chemistry — when the process and dosing are followed.

Important chemistry update: The brochure and older material refer to Lizerna Conditioner as the core finishing product. The Conditioner is no longer available. In today’s Care 4.0 line the finishing / care role is covered by Lizerna Protect Pro — care and waterproofing without PFAS.
